Killingworth Library Closing In Consideration of COVID-19

After careful consideration of the rapidly-evolving COVID-19/coronavirus situation, the Director and Board of Directors of the Killingworth Library have decided that the Killingworth Library will be closed to the public as of 2 PM Saturday, March 14. We have not yet determined when we will reopen, in the meantime:

• All items checked out will not be due back until the library reopens.

• All fines are suspended while the library remains closed.

• While the library is temporarily closed, patrons should keep all of their library materials at home.

• The library book drop will also be closed.

• Donations of books to the library are also suspended, effective immediately.

• Our many electronic items (e-books, e-audio books, movies, etc.) will continue to remain available, and we encourage our patrons to make use of them. Parents – please remember that Scholastic Bookflix Online is available for children ages 1 – 8.

• Library staff will continue to update the website and share information via our Facebook page.

While a re-opening date has not been determined, we are monitoring developments carefully and look forward to letting you know when the library will re-open.

Containment measures that are in place BEFORE the virus emerges in a community are most effective. We feel it is important to be proactive in taking any preventive actions that we can to protect the health of our patrons and our community.
