Guilford Conservation Commission Living with Nature Speaker Series

INVASIVE PLANTS

A Growing Concern

Wednesday, November 7, 2018 @ Guilford Free Library, 67 Park Street, Guilford, CT 06437

Find out what you can do on your property to control invasive plants.

Connecticut Forest and Park Association Land Conservation Director Lindsay Suhr will be talking about invasive plants, the impact on our natural environment and the ways that each of us can help remediate their spread. At CFPA, Lindsay works on protecting working forests, the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails and CFPA properties. She is a steering committee member of both the Connecticut Invasive Plant Working Group and the MassConn Sustainable Forest Partnership.

Lindsay will answer questions like:

How do I recognize an invasive plant?

What are the most pernicious plants and why do they pose a threat in Guilford?

How should I manage them on my property?

This is the sixth presentation of the Guilford Conservation Commission’s Living with Nature Speaker Series.

Invasive Plants: a growing concern is sponsored jointly by the Guilford Conservation Commission, Guilford Land Conservation Trust and the Guilford Free Library.
