Ms. Lara’s Acting Workshop at The Barn is the ultimate fun-while-learning opportunity for creative kids and teens, and is perfect for parents looking for affordable, high quality theatre arts instruction for their child in a safe, warm, cooperative and collaborative social setting. Utilizing specific skill-building warm-ups, elocution exercises, theatre games, trust exercises, relaxation techniques, improvisational activities, scene and monologue work, Ms. Lara focuses on freeing creative expression and artistic sensitivity, building self-esteem and self-awareness while simultaneously expanding teamwork skills and enriching students’ understanding of acting as a form of storytelling. Participating students will naturally improve in reading comprehension and fluency and become more poised in their presentation skills.
