On June 11, 2016 Katherine Cahill Shultz'96 will be inducted into the Kingswood-Oxford Athletic Hall of fame. Her sister Meaghan Cahill Becker '97 was inducted into K-O Athletic Hall of Fame in June 2013.
Both girls played 3 Season KO Varsity D-I sports. Kate 16 varsity letters, Meg 17 Varsity letters starting in middle school.
Kate was selected to National Olympic Ice Hockey Development Camp in Lake Placid '95 and State Olympic Soccer Keeper Camp '90,'91;Named to Boston Globe New England All Star Hockey Night, MVP/Captain KO Ice Hockey '95,'96 and received D-I Providence College'00 hockey scholarship finishing in Top 15 national defenseman.
Meg goaltended for the 1997 National U-18 Polar Bears Ice Hockey Champs; CT Student/Athlete KO rep; Captain/MVP for Soccer, Ice Hockey & lacrosse; All State Soccer; Stew Lindsey Lacrosse Award, All State Soccer '96'97; last Whalers Ice Hockey Scholarship; still holds 3 of her 5 D-I Dartmouth goaltending Ice Hockey all time records, First Team All Ivy; All Academic Ivy Team, Dartmouth Rookie of year '98, finished Dartmouth career ranked #1 National D-I Ice Hockey Goaltender with 1.37 GAA & .933 save %.
Most remembered in KO D-I Ice Hockey for winning 3-1 against Taft the reining NE Champs, 55 saves by Meg, Kate scoring the hat trick win.
Most remembered in KO D-I soccer for the 2-1 NE Prep school semi final win against undefeated BB&N 31 goaltending saves by Kate, while bookends Meg & J. Jordan scored both first & final double overtime goal.
