11/10/2015 11:00 PMTroop 471 under direction of Troop leader Jason Lepro, sponsored a day long Disabilities Awareness program over Veterans Day. The program focused on disability awareness, education and advocacy. The Scouts had an opportunity to learn about the many kinds of disabilities that members of our community experience. They gained hands on experience with assistive technology and devices. Regina and Jacquie from Beacon Services of CT, a local and regional provider of Autism specific, ABA services, presented a dynamic educational program about services for people who are diagnosed with Autism. It was an amazing and enlightening day for the boys!
