Guilford's well known Grass Island Shack is in need of major repairs. There are missing floor boards, the shack is leaning, and there are holes in the roof. To protect people from possible injury, town staff placed a fence around the shack. The fence sparked questions about the status of the shack, and Eagle Scout Candidate John Markowski came forward to help the town raise funds and repair this important iconic symbol of Guilford. Once fundraising goals are met, John and his team plan to begin construction on the shack in early Spring of 2016.
