More Than Your (Recently Renovated) Hometown Country Store

A new store configuration provides both a better dining and shopping experience for all customers.

Since opening in 2007, Wade’s Country Store in Deep River has strived to provide an unparalleled atmosphere filled with warm welcomes, homemade meals and friendly people to its patrons and residents of neighboring towns. Just recently, seven years after opening, Wade’s recently closed its doors for a week in order to complete a much-anticipated renovation.

During its one-week hiatus, Rich and Cathy Wade managed to overhaul the entire store, giving it a complete facelift and making it almost unrecognizable from the inside out. Both Rich and Cathy are looking forward to providing a greater experience to its current patrons, as well as hopefully drawing in additional business.

“We are so excited to hear feedback from everyone about the changes we made. Our overall goals were to increase our current customer’s satisfaction and hopefully grow our customer base as well,” says Cathy.

She and Rich grew up in Westbrook and in 2007, finally fulfilled their childhood dreams of opening an old-timey country store filled with dusty antiques that people flock to for anything from a morning cup of coffee to that evening’s seafood dinner.

Wade’s is a one-stop shop, providing everything from made-to-order breakfast and lunch (both sit-down and takeout available), hot coffee and tea, daily baked goods, grocery isles, fresh produce, a deli and even a fresh fish market, which pays tribute to Rich’s four-decade span career prior to opening Wade’s.

A recently added espresso bar and café within the store is sure to bring in additional customers looking for a tasty cappuccino or latte this upcoming winter.
