H-K Football Wins Big on the Road
Five different players scored touchdowns for the Cougars (7-2) against the Coventry Co-op (1-8) in a football game played in Coventry on Nov. 15. H-K earned a 45-0 win on the road. Scott Hosney provided the highlight of the night with a 44-yard scamper, scoring his first touchdown of the year. In addition, Gunnar Howes scored on all four of his two-point conversion runs.
HK's offense was successful on the ground, scoring four rushing touchdowns, and through the air, tallying two passing touchdowns thrown by two different quarterbacks. The defense was even more effective, preserving the shutout and allowing Coventry into Cougar territory only twice in the game.
“I'm pleased with the win, of course, but we have to play with more energy from the first whistle,” said H-K Head Coach Tyler Wilcox. “The final score of the game does not tell the entire story. We came out flat in the first half, so we provided a little motivation for them at halftime. The kids picked it up from there.”
