Cross Country Shines in Dual Meet, Boys’ Soccer Wins a Duo


Girls’ Soccer

Morgan girls’ soccer traveled to Old Lyme on Oct. 7 and won 1-0. Kate Gardner scored the Huskies lone goal, and it was assisted by Liv Ruotolo. Lili Novicki recorded seven saves.

The team then traveled to Old Saybrook on Oct. 10 and tied 1-1. Sadie Passante scored for Morgan, and Novicki recorded five saves.

Boys’ Soccer

The Morgan boys’ soccer team hosted Old Lyme on Oct. 8 and won 7-0. Goals were scored by Nate Kinser (three) assisted by Esteban Orozco and Jonny Gutierrez (two), Orozco assisted by Kinser, Andrew Randi assisted by Emiliano Miranda, and Gutierrez (two) assisted by Miranda and Avery Morello. Liam Totten recorded two saves, and Morgan had 34 shots on goal.

On Oct. 11, the team hosted Old Saybrook and won 3-2.

Cross Country

The Morgan boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed at East Hampton on Oct. 8. For the boys, Owen Lombardi took 12th in a time of 20:25. Michael Bowker placed 13th (20:50), and Calder Holt (23:58) placed 27th. In 32nd place was Anthony Strunjo (25:23:00), and in 33rd place was Drew Auletta (25:23:00). Luke Rodriguez finished in 42nd with a time of 27:12:00.

Natalie Estabrook placed 14th in the girls’ race with a time of 27:26.
