Girls’ Soccer Wins a Trio, Boys’ Soccer Splits the Week
Girls’ Soccer
On Sept. 30, Morgan girls’ soccer hosted East Hampton and won 1-0. Riley Febbroriello scored an unassisted goal on a free kick, and Lili Novicki recorded two saves.
On Oct. 2, the team hosted Coginchaug and won 7-2. In the first half, Morgan’s goals were scored by Ainsley Lyon and Sadie Passante. In the second half, Passante scored twice, and Rachel Spaziano, Olivia Ruotolo, and Addy Reed each added a goal. Novicki recorded three saves.
The Huskies hit the road to East Lyme on Oct. 4 and won 2-1. Passante scored both goals for Morgan, and one of them was assisted by Ruotolo. Novicki recorded three saves.
Passante had five goals last week, including a hat trick against Coginchaug, and she scored the game winner in both of Morgan's last two games.
Boys’ Soccer
Morgan boys’ soccer hit the road to East Hampton on Sept. 30 and recorded a 3-3 tie. Esteban Orozco scored two goals, assisted by Nate Kinser and Jonny Gutierrez, and Gutierrez added a score, which was assisted by Emiliano Miranda. Liam Totten recorded eight saves.
The team then traveled to Hale Ray on Oct. 4 and won 8-0. Goals for the Huskies were scored by Miranda assisted by Edyn Ortiz, Kinser assisted by Gutierrez, Gutierrez assisted by Cinar Yucel, Orozco (two) assisted by Kinser and Miranda, Andrew Randi (two) assisted by Gutierrez and Yucel, and Matt Maher assisted by Gutierrez. Totten had one save.
The next day, the Huskies hit the road to Stonington and fell 3-1.
