Valley Regional High School Celebrates New Stadium Turf Field

Valley Regional High School (VRHS) is excited to announce the grand opening of its new stadium turf field on Friday, Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. This celebratory event will take place just before the first home football game against the North Branford Thunderbirds.

As part of the festivities, the school will welcome District Administrators, Region 4 board members, Fields Committee members, and football and cheer coaches, along with their captains, for a special recognition ceremony. A ceremonial ribbon-cutting will commemorate this significant milestone.

Superintendent Brian J. White recognized the Region 4 Board of Education, as well as the communities of Chester, Deep River, and Essex for their support of this important project. “I am especially grateful for the hard work of the administrative staff and the Region 4 Board of Education to accomplish these much needed improvements. The new stadium/track and field complex is one of several new athletic facility upgrades underway on the campuses of Valley Regional High School and John Winthrop Middle School. These facilities are a point of pride for our schools and the communities they serve.”

Principal Mike Barile expressed his excitement and pride for the new stadium turf field, stating “This incredible facility is a testament to the dedication and excellence of our student-athletes. It’s something the entire community can truly be proud of, and we’re beyond grateful for the overwhelming support that made this dream a reality. I can’t wait to see the lasting memories and school spirit it will inspire!”

“This new turf field represents not just an upgrade to our facilities, but also a commitment to our tradition of ‘Defending the Hill.’ We are eager to create lasting memories and foster school spirit on this new field,” said Athletic Director Lewis Pappariella.

Tickets for the VRHS vs. North Branford football game will be available at the door or online at GoFan (GoFan.co). Ticket prices are $4 for students and seniors, and $6 for adults.
