Boys’ Soccer Wins Twice, Football Falls on the Road
Boys’ Soccer
The Morgan boys’ soccer team traveled to Portland on Sept. 16 and won 6-1. Goals for the Huskies were scored by Jonathan Gutierrez (three) assisted by Nate Kinser (two) and Mark Rodriguez, and Dylan Gallardo (two) unassisted for one and assisted by Anthony Paredes for the other one. The final goal was granted on an own goal by Portland. Liam Totten recorded one save in net.
The team next traveled to Coginchaug on Sept. 18 and won 4-0. Gutierrez scored two goals, and they were assisted by Kinser and Emiliano Miranda. Miranda also added a score assisted by Gutierrez, and Kinser scored on a free kick unassisted. Totten recorded three saves in goal.
Field Hockey
The Morgan field hockey team traveled to Westbrook/Lyme-Old Lyme on Sept. 17 and lost 3-0. Piper Damiano recorded seven saves in net in the loss.
The team then hosted North Branford on Sept. 19 and fell 2-0.
The Huskies closed out the week at Wethersfield on Sept. 21 and took a 2-1 loss.
Girls’ Soccer
Morgan girls’ soccer hosted Portland on Sept. 17 and won 4-0. Sadie Passante scored two goals for the Huskies, and Portland scored two own goals.
Volleyball
The Morgan volleyball team played host to Old Lyme on Sept. 16 and won 3-0.
Two days later, the Huskies traveled to Hale Ray and fell 3-0.
Morgan ended the week on Sept. 20, hosting Valley Regional and taking a 3-0 loss.
Football
The Morgan-Westbrook-Old Saybrook football team traveled to Rockville on Sept. 19 and lost 34-7.
