Boys’ Soccer Splits the Week, Football Wins on the Road

The Valley/Old Lyme football team traveled to Windsor Locks Suffield East Granby on Sept. 21 and won 35-17.
Boys’ Soccer
On Sept. 16, Valley boys’ soccer traveled to East Hampton and lost 4-1. Nathan Crown scored an unassisted goal, with Kenny Batt making 18 saves.
Three days later, the Warriors hosted Hale Ray and won 6-0. Tucker Norton scored the first two goals, with assists going to Gavin Abderhalden and Crown. Owen Ingram scored the third goal with Patrick Finnegan getting the assist, and the fourth goal was scored by Joe Welch assisted by Finnegan. Freshman Keegan Colquhoun scored the fifth goal assisted by Eddie Johnson, and the final goal came from from Caleb Winkley, with the assist from Benny Cardoso. Batt recorded six saves in the shutout.
Girls’ Soccer
Valley girls’ soccer hosted East Hampton on Sept. 17 and lost 1-0. Emma Reilly recorded four saves in goal.
The team then hosted Amistad two days later and won 8-0. Goals for the Warriors were scored by Reilly, Kali Dorso, Lila Young, Dana Lopez-Criolli, Aviana Santangelo (two), and Naomi Cokas. Juliana Spencer had two assists, and Madelyn Reibold and Ella Smith each had one.
On Sept. 21, the Warriors played host to Montville and won 1-0.
Field Hockey
Valley field hockey traveled to North Branford on Sept. 16 and fell 5-0.
Two days later, the team hosted Windsor and recorded a 2-0 loss.
The team ended the week at Haddam-Killingworth on Sept. 20 and lost 4-1.
