Volleyball

The East Haven volleyball team hosted Lyman Hall on Sept. 9 and took a 3-2 loss (25-23, 14-25, 18-25, 32-30, 15-9). Alexa Heaphy had 13 kills and five aces, while Mia Abely had seven kills. Eve Backhaus had 33 assists and six aces.

The Yellowjackets then traveled to Amity on Sept. 11 and fell 3-0 (25-8. 25-16, 25-8). Abely had two kills and one block, while Backhaus recorded four aces and four assists.

Two days later, East Haven ended the week at Daniel Hand and took a 3-2 loss (25-18, 21-25, 25-21, 14-25, 16-14). Abely had 15 kills, and Lenah Forte had eight kills and two blocks. Backhaus had 36 assists and three aces.

Boys’ Soccer

East Haven boys’ soccer traveled to Xavier on Sept. 10 and fell 8-0.

Two days later, the team hosted North Haven and took a 2-0 loss.

On Sept. 14, the Yellowjackets hit the road to Sheehan and won 3-1.

Girls’ Soccer

The East Haven girls’ soccer team traveled to Cheshire on Sept. 9 and took an 8-0 loss.

Football

The East Haven football team opened up the season on Sept. 13 at Lyman Hall and won 21-18.
