08/26/2024 01:35 AMKirsten Kilburn, a graduate of North Branford High School (NBHS), will be inducted into the Connecticut Field Hockey Hall of Fame on Sunday, Sep. 8. While she had an outstanding career at NBHS (Class of 2011), she is being inducted as a college player.
Kilburn played for Mount Holyoke College, an NCAA Division III school, from 2011-2015. As a captain in both her junior and senior years, she was an All-Conference First Team selection for three seasons. She was named a Division III Second Team All-American in 2013 and 2014 and First Team All-Region. She consistently led both her team and the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) in assists, scoring, and goals. She also led the team to the NCAA Tournament in 2014.
Kilburn holds the NCAA Division III record for points scored, shots attempted, assists per game, and shots on goals. She is second in shots per game and shots on goal per game, third in penalty kicks made, sixth in penalty kick attempts, and eighth in defensive saves. She holds multiple Mount Holyoke records, including shots on goal, shots attempted, points scored, and assists per game.
Kilburn’s record at North Branford High School was equally impressive. She was three times named Most Valuable Player, was an All-State First Team selection all four years, and was a 2011 All-American nominee.
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is on Sunday, Sep. 8 at the Aqua Turf Club.
