Westbrook Dance Academy National Champions at Revolution Talent Competition
The Westbrook Dance Academy Competition Teams recently competed in the Revolution Talent Nationals at Kalahari Resort, Poconos, Pennsylvania, and returned as national champions. In a competition with 50 studios from across the United States and over 1500 entries – with some divisions having over 100 entries – the team returned as national champions, had three dances earn spots in the Battle of The Champions, won second place in the Battle of The Champions, and had multiple top five and top 10 results, several category winners, and judges special awards.
The Hip Hop Competition Team won the National Championship in the 12-14 small group division (out of over 40 dances) and scored platinum with “Queen Nicki.” The team also earned one of six spots in the Battle of The Champions 12-14 small group division. Hip Hop Competition Team members include Mia Stowik from Westbrook, Sofia Taylor, Delilah Calle Paredes, Calla Gilson, and Tess Santarsiero from Old Saybrook, Aubrey Meyer and Madison Grady from Clinton, and Audrey Bragg from Madison.
The Production Team scored platinum and finished second in the 12 and Up production division with “Pirates Of The Carribean.” The team then finished second in the 12 and Up production division of the Battle of The Champions. They also earned a judges special award. Production Team members Isabella Johnson, Aubrey Meyer, Bridget Johnson, and Madison Grady are from Clinton. Ayla Foulks, Sofia Taylor, Desire Calle Paredes, Delilah Calle Paredes, Calla Gilson, and Tess Santarsiero are from Old Saybrook. Audrey Bragg, Elijah Bragg, and Violet Topping are from Madison. Sophie Furcolo, Mia Stowik, Olivia Amenta, and Ava Merriman are from Westbrook. Mallory Tuccitto, Marlee Lampright, Leila Painter, and Summer Painter are from Clinton. Kylee Magee is from Guilford.
The Senior Competition Team scored platinum and finished eighth out of over 20 dances in the 15-19 small group division with their Musical Theater “One More Happl’y Ever After.” The team also earned one of six spots in the Battle of The Champions 15-19 small group division. Senior Competition Team members Isabella Johnson and Madison Grady are from Clinton, Calla Gilson and Tess Santarsiero are from Old Saybrook.
The Teen Competition Team scored platinum and finished fifth out of over 40 dances in the 12-14 small group division with their Musical Theater “We Both Reached For The Gun.” Teen Competition Team members Mia Stowik and Sophie Furcolo are from Westbrook, Sofia Taylor and Delilah Calle Paredes are from Old Saybrook, Aubrey Meyer and Bridget Johnson are from Clinton, and Audrey Bragg is from Madison.
The Mini Team finished second in the 9-11 Large Group division with “Monsters Inc.” Mini Team members Olivia Amenta and Ava Merriman are from Westbrook, Mallory Tuccitto, Marlee Lampright, Leila Painter, and Summer Painter are from Clinton, Elijah Bragg and Violet Topping are from Madison, Ayla Foulks and Desire Calle Paredes are from Old Saybrook, and Kylee Magee is from Guilford.
Calla Gilson and Madison Grady scored platinum and finished seventh out of over 20 dances in the 15-19 Duo/Trio division with their Musical Theater “Shrek and Donkey.” Madison Grady is from Clinton. Calla Gilson is from Old Saybrook.
It was the conclusion of another very successful season for the Westbrook Dance Academy Competition Teams.
Westbrook Dance Academy offers programs for all ages from Beginner to Advanced, Recreational and Competition for all ability levels and all ages in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, Hip-Hop, Acrobatics, and Musical Theater, and for the youngest dancers – Mommy and Me.
