Baseball Coasts to State Semifinals, Girls’ Lacrosse Sees Several All-Conference Athletes

Baseball

The H-K baseball team began the Class S State Tournament as the No. 3 seed. In the first round on May 28, the Cougars hosted No. 30 East Catholic and won 11-0. Blake Kamoen pitched five innings of shutout ball, allowing no runs on three hits and striking out six batters. Matt Shea added three hits, and Chase Bruno had two with two RBI to lead the Cougars.

In the second round on May 29, the Cougars played host to No. 14 Notre Dame-Fairfield and earned an 8-2 victory.

In the quarterfinal round on June 1, the Cougars hosted No. 11 St. Paul Catholic and won 9-3.

Girls’ Lacrosse

Several athletes from the H-K girls’ lacrosse team were named All-Shoreline for their efforts this spring. Ava Ramino, Samantha Ruimerman, and Gabrielle Williams earned spots on the First Team. Brigitte Battisoni was named to the Second Team, and Jaimey DiNapoli was an Honorable Mention.

Golf

Owen Staskelunas and Declan Kessler were named to the All-Shoreline Conference Second Team for their efforts on the course this spring.
