Golf Loses Four Matches, Girls’ Lacrosse Wins a Pair

Golf

The Morgan golf team hosted Guilford on May 13 and fell 163-179. Jack Nye scored a 42 on the course, Kolby Clifton scored a 45, including a hole-in-one on the sixth hole, Patrick O’Neil earned a 46, and Robert Bergman recorded a 46.

The next day, the team hosted Old Saybrook and fell 175-189. Nye scored a 44.

On May 15, the Huskies traveled to Waterford and lost 179-182. Nye earned a 39, and O’Neil scored a 43.

Morgan ended the week at Coginchaug on May 16 and lost 163-180. Nye led the way with a 40, O’Neil earned a 43, Clifton scored a 48, and Luke McComiskey recorded a 49.

Girls’ Lacrosse

Morgan girls’ lacrosse traveled to Middletown on May 13 and won 15-10. Maeve Madura scored six goals, Emma Holecz had four goals and four assists, Ava Schmidt had three goals and one assist, Ashley Reemsnyder scored two goals, Cora Dunham had one assist, and Emma Champagne added one assist. Maddie Caruso had six saves in her first start in goal, and Madura had six draw controls, Dunham had six, and Holecz had three.

The team then traveled to Cromwell on May 18 and earned a 13-5 win. Goal scorers for Morgan included Holecz (six goals), Madura (four goals, one assist), Schmidt (one goal, one assist), Champagne (one goal), Emma Teuner (one goal), and Reemsnyder (one assist). Annabell Parent had eight saves. Holecz had nine draw controls, and Madura had two.
