Girls’ Tennis Wins a Trio to Continue Dominant Season

Girls’ Tennis

Westbrook girls’ tennis traveled to Haddam-Killingworth on April 29 and won 6-1.

On May 1, the team played host to Old Saybrook and earned a 6-1 victory. Megan Bache earned a win at No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-2). Anna Landino won at No. 3 singles (6-3, 6-1), and Adriana Spash won 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

The doubles teams swept the board. Olivia Palumbo and Lotta Kuenning won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles. Natalie Palumbo and Giovanna Silva earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles, and Norah Hayden and Neave Hinckley competed at No. 3 doubles and won 6-0, 6-2.

The team wrapped up the week at home on May 2 with a 6-1 win vs. East Hampton. Bache won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Landino won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Emily Bonner competed at No. 4 singles and earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

All three doubles teams won their matches. Olivia Palumbo and Kuenning won 6-0, 6-0. Natalie Palumbo and Silva won 6-0, 6-0. Hayden and Hinckley earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
