Girls’ Lacrosse Wins Twice, Girls’ Tennis Splits the Week
Girls’ Tennis
The Morgan girls’ tennis team traveled to Westbrook on April 22 and took a 4-3 loss. Earning wins for the Huskies were Rachel Spaziano at No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-3), Kayla Mullone at third singles (7-5, 6-3), and Sara Morrissey at No. 4 singles (4-6, 6-0, 6-1).
On April 25, the team played host to East Hampton and earned a 7-0 win.
Girls’ Lacrosse
On April 23, Morgan girls’ lacrosse traveled to Wheeler and won 12-5. Goal scorers for the Huskies included Maeve Madura (four goals, three assists), Ashley Reemsnyder (two goals, one assist), Emma Holecz (two goals), Cora Dunham (one goal, two assists), Emma Champagne (one goal), Ava Schmidt (one goal), and Molly O'Donnell (one goal). Holecz had five draw controls, Madura had three, and Dunham had one. Annabell Parent recorded seven saves in goal.
The team then traveled to Valley Regional on April 25 and won 10-8. Several players contributed on offense, including Madura (three goals, two assists), Schmidt (two goals), Reemsnyder (one goal), Champagne (one goal), Dunham (one goal), Holecz (one goal), and Gwen Madura (one goal). Maeve Madura had six draw controls, Holecz had two, and Dunham had two. Lilly Luciani and Holecz had three ground balls each. Parent had eight saves in net.
