North Branford baseball traveled to Cromwell on April 8 and won 13-4.
On April 10, the team hosted Valley Regional/Westbrook and grabbed a 9-2 win.
The team ended the week at Haddam-Killingworth on April 13 and earned a 3-1 victory. Gabriel Blyschack drove in two runs to lead the Thunderbirds attack.
Softball
The North Branford softball team traveled to Cromwell on April 8 and won 16-0 in five innings. Lauren Vitarisi had a big game and drove in five runs on three hits. Lindsey Onofrio recorded three RBIs, and Adriana Hills drove in three runs. She also recorded a double and a triple in the game. Lily Ardito drove in two runs, and Lexi Falcioni and Gabi Senerchia each drove in one. Kiley Mullins pitched five innings and just gave up one hit and no runs. She also struck out nine batters.
The next day, the team traveled to Portland and won 23-0. Alia Martone drove in seven runs, and Natalia Lucibello drove in three. Onofrio and Vitarisi each drove in a pair. Vitarisi also pitched four innings, giving up no runs and one hit with seven strikeouts. Emilyn Nay pitched one inning struck out two. She also secured the shutout.
On April 10, North Branford hosted Valley Regional and grabbed a 29-6 win. Vitarisi and Martone drove in four runs each, and Mullins, Christina Aneiro, Gabriella Bigio, and Hills all drove in three. Lucibello and Falcioni each picked up two RBIs. Mullins and Onofrio both hit a triple in the contest. Mullins pitched four innings, giving up three hits and one earned run while striking out 11 and walking one. Nay threw one frame, giving up three hits and four earned runs. She also struck out one batter.
Boys’ Lacrosse
The Thunderbirds boys’ lacrosse team traveled to Haddam-Killingworth on April 9 and lost 12-1. AJ Sigel scored the lone goal, and Jack maley made 20 saves.
On April 11, the team hosted Cromwell and earned a big 15-3 victory. Several players contributed to the win, including Cameron Lacroix (seven goals, two assists), Sigel (four goals, one assist), and Max Becker (one goal, two assists).
Additionally, Joey Jacobs scored two goals, Landen Burns added an assist, and Luca Angiollo recorded one assist. TJ Connelly added an assist in the contest, and Lucas Vollono scored one goal. Maley had two saves, and Patrick Ford made two saves.
