Boys’ Lacrosse Wins Twice, Baseball Takes a Loss

Baseball

Valley Regional/Westbrook baseball hosted Haddam-Killingworth on April 8 and lost 2-1. Kyle Leandri and Caleb Winkley each recorded two hits.

Boys’ Lacrosse

The Valley boys’ lacrosse team started the season with a sloppy game and loss, but the squad has since improved and is now 2-1 on the campaign.

On April 6, the team defeated Cromwell 16-1. Goals were scored by Kai Cokas (four), Sullivan Rock (four), JP Hays (three), Gavin Ortola (two), and Michael Lelyo (one). Cameron Costanzo won 17 faceoffs, and Noah Santangelo made 12 saves.

The Warriors then hosted Morgan on April 9 and won 15-4. Ortola led the way with four goals, followed by Cokas with three. Hays and Rock scored two goals apiece. Other offensive contributors that found the net included Costanzo (one goal), Cole Amato (one goal), Matt Cooper (one goal), and Lelyo (one goal). Costanzo won 18 faceoffs, and Santangelo collected 23 saves in goal.
