The Old Saybrook girls’ basketball team entered the Shoreline Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed, facing No. 6 Haddam-Killingworth in the quarterfinals on Feb. 17 and losing 65-34.

As the No. 7 seed in the Class S State Tournament, the Rams hosted No. 26 Terryville in the first round on Feb. 27 and won 42-41. The Rams found themselves in a battle in the first half, similar to the H-K game, finishing the first half down four despite Nora Kulmann's 10 points on three long 3s, and a free throw 22-18. Old Saybrook came out strong to start the third quarter and out-scored the Kangaroos 13-9 in the period, behind balanced scoring from Breleigh Cook, Kylie Lake, Alex Ling, and Kulmann, and outstanding defense and rebounding and shot blocking from Lake. This came along with big help from Ling, Sanai Baker, and Ellie Pennington to tie the score going into the deciding quarter.

Terryville managed to take another four-point lead behind a pair of field goals, but a three-point bomb by Cook and a two-pointer from Baker put Old Saybrook up one in a lead the team wouldn’t give up.

In the second round on Feb. 29, Old Saybrook hosted No. 10 Lyman Memorial and fell 39-35.
