Boys’ Basketball Wins Two, Boys’ Ice Hockey Earns a Win

Boys’ Basketball

The Morgan boys’ basketball team hosted Daniel Hand on Feb. 19 and won a tight, 70-66 contest. Jack Nye’s 25 points led the way for the Huskies, followed by Ryan Donadio with 20 points, and Patrick O’Neil with 12 points. Other point scorers included Robby Estabrook (six points), Kolby Clifton (four points), and Mason Krott (three points).

In the Shoreline Conference quarterfinals on Feb. 24, the Huskies hosted Hale Ray and won 64-44. Krott led the way with 28 points, followed by Estabrook with 12 points. Other contributors were O’Neil (two points), Donadio (six points), Clifton (four points), Nye (six points), and Luke McComiskey (six points).

Boys’ Ice Hockey

The East Haven Co-op boys’ ice hockey team played one game last week, hosting Trumbull on Feb. 21 and winning 5-0. Preston Cantele started off the scoring with an unassisted goal in the first period, followed by a goal from John D’Albero (assisted by Griffin McGlinchey).

In the second period, Landon Cantele knocked in a score, assisted by Nick Perillo and Mike Savo. D’Albero then scored his second goal of the game, with Lorenzo Defilio and McGlinchey on the assist.

Preston Cantele iced the game with a score in the third frame, which was assisted by Savo and Carter McGlinchey. Mike Fritz recorded a shutout in net and had 11 saves, while Chris Anderson also spent some time in goal, allowing zero scores on two saves.
