Madison Hoop Dreams School of Basketball
Madison Hoop Dreams will hold its “School of Basketball” program at Polson Middle School, 302 Greenhill Road, Madison, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in March, April, and May for grades 3 to 8 from 6 to 7:15 p.m.. They also accept second graders with a love for basketball, and high school players who desire to get better ball handling and shooting skills.
The focus is on ball handling skills and pure shooting form, and the program will teach the art of shooting, with drills the athletes can take home. In addition, the instruction includes ball handling drills, different types of dribbling, pivoting, all the types of passes, driving, and moving without the ball. Players shoot over 100 shots each session.
The cost is $20 per session ($16/hour), with a different instructor offered each night. On Mondays, Bobby Moore (basketball legend from New Haven) will be the head coach. On Wednesdays, Brett Zanardi (assistant coach at Connecticut College) will be the head coach. On Fridays, Rich Pagliuca (one of the top coaches ever in CT) will be the head coach. Players get a variety of instruction to enhance their focus on the various skill sets, and each of the three coaches is considered one of the top basketball instructors in the state.
