The Guilford wrestling team traveled to the TFC Kevin Miller Tourney on Jan. 27. The team went up against Norwich Free Academy and lost 45-27. Alex Uzzo grabbed a win at 132 pounds by a 5-4 decision, and Dominic Bilskis won at 157 pounds by fall at 1:39. Garrett Mace also won the 165-pound bout by fall at 1:32, and Tim Hastings (215 pounds) won by fall at 1:02.

When facing East Hartford, Guilford fell 57-22. Andrew Plancon won at 113 pounds by fall, and Mace won at 165 pounds by 14-2 major decision. Michael O’Donnell won the 190-pound bout by fall, and Logan Murphy grabbed a win at 285 pounds by fall.

Another team the Grizzles faced in the match was Staples, and they took a 45-33 loss. Plancon win at 113 pounds by a 7-4 decision, while Uzzo won at 132 pounds by fall at 3:48. Jean-Paul Meguerditchian won the 175-pound match by fall at 5:28, while O’Donnell won by fall (3:56) at 190 pounds. Hastings collected a win by fall at 215 pounds (1:26), and Murphy (285 pounds) won by fall at 3:04.

Guilford dominated in its head-to-head matchup with Granby, recording a 58-12 win. Killian Thompson won by major decision at 126 pounds (18-7), and Bilskis (157 pounds) won by fall at 4:56.
