Boys’ Basketball, Boys’ Ice Hockey Grab Two Wins Each

Boys’ Basketball

On Dec. 22, the Morgan boys’ basketball team traveled to East Hampton and won 71-34. Leading the team in scoring was Robbie Estabrook with 22 points, followed by Patrick O’Neil with 13 points. Ryan Donadio and Jack Nye each contributed with 11. Mason Krott added seven points in the victory, while Kolby Clifton scored four points and Luke McComiskey scored three.

The team then hosted Old Saybrook on Dec. 27 and won 69-25. Nye scored 22 points for the Huskies, followed by Estabrook with 12. Several other players contributed to the victory, including Krott (two points), Clifton (four points), McComiskey (two points), O’Neil (six points), Donadio (four points), Kyle Kobelt (six points), Griffin Ranaudo (two points), Hunter Mancini (four points), Wyatt Luke (two points), and Noah Cinquino (three points).

Boys’ Ice Hockey

On Dec. 23, the East Haven Co-op boys’ ice hockey team hosted New Milford and won 6-1. The Yellowjackets dominated for the entirety of the game, scoring two goals in each period.

In the first frame, both East Haven goals were scored by Lorenzo Defilio. He was assisted by John D’Albero and Preston Cantele. In the second period, Cantele scored an unassisted goal of his own, and Defilio completed a hat trick with an unassisted score. Landon Cantele and Preston Cantele each added a score in the third period, with Ryan Bunnell recording an assist. Mike Fritz manned the net for Eats Haven, allowing one goal on 29 saves.

The team then took a trip to Daniel Hand on Dec. 27, where they grabbed a commanding 6-0 victory. Goal scorers for the Yellowjackets included D’Albero (assisted by Preston Cantele), Landon Cantele (assisted by Nick Perillo), Defilio (assisted by Preston Cantele), Preston Cantele (unassisted), Bunnell (assisted by Mike Savo and Landon Cantele) and Defilio (unassisted). Fritz had a stellar performance in net, allowing zero goals while recording 22 saves.
