Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer Take First-Round Losses
Field Hockey
Branford field hockey began Class M State Tournament play as the No. 9 seed. In a first-round matchup on Nov 7, the Hornets defeated No. 8 Amity by a score of 3-0.
Two days later, Branford traveled to No. 1 Daniel Hand and fell 2-0. Goalie Julia Bozzi recorded five saves in the contest.
Boys’ Soccer
Branford boys’ soccer entered the Class L State Tournament as the No. 19 seed. In a first-round matchup on Nov. 7, the team faced No. 14 Simsbury and fell 5-1.
Girls’ Soccer
The Branford girls’ soccer team landed a spot in the Class M State Tournament as the No. 26 seed. On Nov. 6 in the first round, the Hornets traveled to No. 7 Watertown and fell 1-0.
Girls’ Volleyball
Girls’ volleyball entered the Class L State Tournament as the No. 15 seed. In a first-round matchup on Nov. 7, the Hornets hosted No. 18 Killingly and won 3-0.
Two days later, Branford traveled to No. 2 Waterford in the second round and took a 3-0 loss.
