North Haven Football Grabs a Win, Girls’ Swimming and Diving Competes in Conference Championship Meet

North Haven’s Sydney Pitcher was named to the All-SCC Second Team for her efforts on the field hockey circuit this season.
Girls’ Volleyball
On Oct. 27, Nighthawks girls’ volleyball played in the first round of the SCC Tournament as the No. 14 seed, falling 3-0 (25-10, 25-6, 25-13) to No. 3 Shelton.
Girls’ Swimming and Diving
North Haven girls’ swimming and diving competed in the SCC Championship meet on Nov. 1. The Nighthawks placed 14th as a team with 254 points. In 16th place in the 200-yard medley relay was Scarlett Russek, Angelina Valentino, Avery Cullen, and Abigail Lorusso with a time of 2:26.92. Madisen Karavas took ninth place in the 200 freestyle (2:08.78) and Morgan Nunez took 28th (2:24.20). Giada Garofalo took 15th place in the 50 freestyle (27.39). Riley Mattox (286.85) came in 20th in the 1 meter dive.
Karavas (1:07.49) took 16th in the 100 butterfly, while Garofalo (1:00.53) came in 21st in the 100 freestyle. In the 200 freestyle relay, Karavas, Nunez, Amelia Bautz, and Garofalo came in 10th place (1:53.70). The 400 freestyle relay team of Karavas, Nunez, Andrea Laborde, and Garofalo finished in 11th place with a time of 4:13.79.
