Westbrook Field Hockey, Boys’ Soccer Get Two Wins Apiece

Football

Morgan-Old Saybrook-Westbrook football traveled to Rockville on Oct. 27 and took a 49-6 defeat.

Field Hockey

Field hockey traveled to Killingly on Oct. 23 to start the week and grabbed a 1-0 win. On Oct. 26, the team hosted Canton on Senior Night and lost 4-0.

The next day, Westbrook hit the road to face Haddam-Killingworth and took a tight 1-0 loss. Finally, the Knights ended the week at home on Oct. 28 against Somers/Rockville Co-op and won 6-1. In this contest, contributors for the Knights included Alyssa Leandri (two goals), Lotta Kuenning (one goal, one assist), Meg Bache (one goal, one assist), Brooke Ouellette (one goal), Anne Marie Hinkley (one goal), and Bella Ziegler (one assist). Grace Vincent recorded five saves in goal.

Boys’ Soccer

Westbrook boys’ soccer had its Senior Night game on Oct. 23 vs. Putnam, recording a 7-0 win at home. Two days later, the team hosted Amistad and notched a 2-0 victory. The week ended for the Knights on Oct. 26, when they traveled to Coginchaug and played the Blue Devils to a 1-1 tie.

Girls’ Soccer

The Westbrook girls’ soccer team traveled to Lyman Memorial on Oct. 23, where they lost 2-0. Three days later, the team hit the road to play Wheeler and claimed a 2-0 win in the regular season finale.
