North Haven Football Takes 14-7 Loss to Shelton; Girls’ Soccer Notches Two Shutouts


Football

On Oct. 27, North Haven football traveled to Shelton and took a 14-7 loss in the contest.

Field Hockey

Nighthawks field hockey wrapped up the regular season on Oct. 23, when they played host to Daniel Hand and lost 7-0.

Girls’ Volleyball

Girls’ volleyball started the week on Oct. 23, hosting Cheshire and losing 3-0. On Oct. 27, the team traveled to Shelton and lost by a 3-0 score.

Girls’ Soccer

The North Haven girls’ soccer team started the week off strong, grabbing a 6-0 road win at East Haven on Oct. 23. Two days later, the Nighthawks wrapped up the regular season when they hosted Career/Hillhouse and triumphed by a 6-0 final.

Boys’ Soccer

Boys’ soccer ended the regular season with a tough 6-1 loss at home vs. Branford on Oct. 23.

Girls’ Swimming and Diving

North Haven girls’ swimming and diving traveled to Jonathan Law on Oct. 23 and lost 94-81. Madisen Karavas took second place in the 200-yard freestyle (2:15.15). Giada Garofalo came in second in the 50 freestyle (28.55). Meghan DeRubeis won the 1-meter dive (220.80) and Karavas took first place in the 100 butterfly (1:12.94).

Andrea Laborde recorded a second place time in the 500 freestyle of 6:57.89, while in the 200 freestyle relay, Karavas, Angelina Valentino, Morgan Nunez, and Garofalo finished in second place with a time of 2:03.92. Scarlett Russek won the 100 backstroke (1:26.84), followed by Abigail Lorusso (1:32.94) in second and Shen Wan (1:41.66) in third. Valentino took home first place in the 100 breaststroke (1:33.49) and Reese Tesla was second in that event (1:47.96). The 400 freestyle relay team comprised of Karavas, Nunez, Laborde, and Garofalo won the race in a time of 4:27.40.
