Branford Girls’ Volleyball Picks Up Three Victories; Girls’ Soccer Grabs a Win and a Draw
Boys’ Soccer
Branford boys’ soccer traveled to Fairfield Prep on Oct. 10 and lost 2-0. Two days later, the team hosted Daniel Hand and took a 2-0 loss.
Girls’ Soccer
The Branford girls’ soccer team began the week at Foran on Oct. 10, recording a 2-0 win. On Oct. 13, the team traveled to Hamden and won 6-1. The next day, Amity came to town and the Hornets notched a 4-4 draw with the Spartans.
Field Hockey
Hornets field hockey hosted Guilford on Oct. 10 and lost 3-2. Aliza Giordano and Mia d’Amuri scored the Branford goals, with Reanna Sachs assisting both. Julia Bozzi recorded 19 saves in net.
Head Coach Peter Frye called it a “very intense game” with excellent performances from Allison McCarthy, Tate Jones, Ellie Wieland, and Jessica Radziunas.
On Oct. 13, Branford traveled to Daniel Hand and took a 1-0 overtime loss against the Tigers.
Girls’ Volleyball
Branford girls’ volleyball hit the road to Lyman Hall on Oct. 11, collecting a 3-0 win. Two days later, the Hornets played host to Mercy and won 3-1. On Oct. 14, North Branford came to town and Branford prevailed by a 3-1 score in the matchup.
