Old Saybrook Field Hockey Records Debut Shutout, Football Grabs Commanding Win

Football

Morgan-Old Saybrook-Westbrook football opened the season on Sept. 9 at Haddam-Killingworth, grabbing a 44-20 victory. Tyler Baldwin rushed for two touchdowns and passed for two touchdowns in the win. Casey Corrigan also ran in a 7-yard score in the second quarter, and John Nye caught both a 39-yard and 49-yard touchdown pass from Baldwin. Ethan Lane also ran in a 25-yard touchdown.

Boys’ Soccer

Old Saybrook boys’ soccer opened the season on Sept. 8 when they traveled to Portland and took a 0-0 tie.

Girls’ Soccer

On Sept. 8, the Rams girls’ soccer team hosted Portland in the season opener. They ended the contest in a 0-0 tie.

Field Hockey

The Old Saybrook field hockey team played its first game of the season on Sept. 9, hosting Waterford and shutting out the visitors 7-0. Junior captain Ayla D’Anna had a hat trick, scoring three goals. Senior captain Amelia Sigersmith scored two goals and added two assists. Sophomore Kendall Dobratz recorded one goal and three assists, while junior Sydney Webb scored one goal. Junior Hanna DePuma had one assist and Junior goalkeeper Erin Fiorelli had one save.
