Bill’s Seafood and Atlantic Outboard, both of Westbrook, have announced this year’s JTW Scholarship recipients. This year’s scholarships were awarded to Westbrook’s William McCarthy, and Old Saybrook’s Yecxel Rodriguez Deras and Juan Aciniegas.

Bill’s Seafood and Atlantic Outboard in Westbrook award scholarships to qualifying individuals from the towns of Clinton, Old Saybrook, and Westbrook. Money is raised through a Blackfish Tournament held annually in October.

The scholarship is given in memory of Joshua T. Winslow, a well-known, well-loved, energetic, and accomplished carpenter who grew up in Westbrook.

This year, each student received $1,500, totaling $4,500. The award is given to a student (or students) who demonstrated positive character, community involvement, and work experience. The recipient must also have expressed an interest in pursuing a vocational field of their choice.

The Bill’s Seafood Scholarship Committee would also like to congratulate the 2023 Bill’s Seafood Athletic scholarship recipients.

Recipients include Sofie Passante and Seamus Staunton of Clinton; Old Saybrook’s Juliette Condulis and Bradley Kulmann; Audrey Board and Quentin Baron of Valley Regional; and Westbrook’s Halley Pierson and Jacob Perrault.

Bill’s Seafood in Westbrook scholarship funds are raised through a golf tournament, held annually in September. This year, the total amount for all students equals $22,000. The award is given to students who have demonstrated positive character, leadership and good citizenship qualities. The recipients must also have participated in high school athletics each of their four years. Lastly, the recipients must further their education at a four-year college/university, junior college, business or vocational school.

If you would like to make a donation to the Bill’s Seafood Athletic Scholarship, it is 100% tax deductible through a partnership with The Community Foundation of Middlesex County.
