Boy Scout Troop 18 Hikes Appalachian Trail

On May 20 to 21, members of Boy Scout Troop 18 of Killingworth hiked and camped a 12-mile section of the Appalachian Trail, starting at its entrance into Connecticut at Sherman finishing in Kent. Hiking were Fischer Norton, Anthony Frericksen, Max Bergman, Alex Fredricksen, Nils Eriksen, and Aiden Anantra.

On June 16 to 19, members of the Troop toured historic Gettysburg National Park in Pennsylvania. They stayed overnight at the Boy Scout Camp Conewago in New Oxford, Pennsylvania. Troop members who participated were Cooper Pitts, Mason Bergman, Nils Eriksen, Sean Link, Fischer Norton, Aiden Anantra, Max Bergman, and Austin Hunter.

The Troop looks forward to a week at Camp Sequassen in New Hartford from July 23 to 29 and a trip to Block Island Aug. 10 to 13. They are accepting new scouts ages 12 to 17.
