Old Saybrook Girls’ Lacrosse Wins Shoreline Championship; Baseballs Falls in Quarterfinal
Baseball
Baseball recorded a 4-0 loss last week to open tournament play. They fell to Valley Regional in the quarterfinal round of the Shoreline Conference tournament to give them a record of 10-11.
Softball
Softball ended its regular season on the road at Stonington on May 22. They fell to their hosts 24-2. The Rams are 4-16 for the season.
Girls’ Lacrosse
Old Saybrook girls’ lacrosse opened conference tournament action on May 23 with 11-5 win over Lyme-Old Lyme in the semifinals. Goals for the Rams were scored by Anna D’Arcy (2), Laura Day (2), Gretchen Kawecki (4), Amelia Sigersmith (1) and Maddie Beaudoin (2). Lila Cadley also added an assist in the contest and Cali Morelli recorded 14 saves in goal.
Old Saybrook faced North Branford in the conference finals on May 25 and won by a score of 14-9 for its second straight title.
Boys’ Lacrosse
Boys’ lacrosse opened conference tournament action on May 22 and took a 12-11 loss to North Branford to make their record 12-5.
