Softball split the week, picking up a win at home and suffering a loss on the road. The team hosted Shelton on May 15 in a 14-2 victory. They hit the road to North Branford on May 18, falling 6-5. The Yellowjackets are now 6-14 for the season.
Girls’ Tennis
Girls’ tennis split the week, taking both a win and loss on the road. The team traveled to Branford on May 15 in a 7-0 loss. Staying on the road, they defeated Platt Tech 5-2 on May 18. Izabella Olszewski (8-2) and Abby Brooks (8-5) picked up singles victories. All three doubles teams also won, which included Sydney Herard/Annora Sayers (8-1), Melania Korenovsky/Diya Patel (8-2) and Hailey Ahumada/Julia Nargi (8-2). The Yellowjackets are now 9-10.
Baseball
Baseball posted back-to-back wins last week after suffering a loss to snap a three-game skid. East Haven traveled to Guilford on May 15 and lost 5-3. The Yellowjackets traveled to Durham on May 17, defeating Coginchaug 11-3. They traveled to Bassick on May 19 in a 15-3 victory. The team is now 10-10.
Boys’ Tennis
Boys’ tennis had a hard week, taking losses in all three contests. The team hosted Jonathan Law on May 15, falling 7-0. On May 16, they traveled to Branford in a 6-1 loss. The Yellowjackets hosted Xavier on May 18 in a 5-2 loss. The doubles duos Greg Vera/Matteo Martinez (6-4, 6-2) and Luis Tejeda-Valenzuela/Angel Orozco (6-3, 6-2) picked up wins in the effort. The team is now 4-16 for the season.
