East Haven Baseball Wins Two; Softball Splits the Week
Softball
Softball split the week last week, taking both a loss and a win on the road. On April 24, the team traveled to Madison to face Daniel Hand in a 5-1 loss. They headed to Branford on April 26 in a 13-0 shutout victory. The team is now 4-8 on the season.
Baseball
Yellowjackets baseball added a pair of wins to its record, while falling in a loss to start the week. On April 24, the team hosted Guilford in a 12-2 loss. They bounced back on April 26 in a home victory over Branford, 5-4. The team closed out the week on April 28, traveling to North Haven for a 5-1 win. The Yellowjackets are now 6-5 for the season.
Girls’ Tennis
Girls’ tennis had a tough week, picking up two losses and a win. The team hosted Foran on April 24 in a 6-1 loss, and Abby Brooks went 7-5, 3-6, and 6-3 in singles play. On April 25, the Yellowjackets hosted Lyman Hall in a 4-3 victory. In singles, Sydney Herard and Abby Brooks both went 6-1 and 6-4, and Melania Korenovsky went 6-2 and 6-1. In doubles, Hailey Ahumada and Julia Nargi went 6-2, 4-6, and 6-4. On April 28, East Haven traveled to Hamden and took a 0-7 loss. The team is now 6-4 on the season.
Boys’ Tennis
Boys’ tennis split the week, posting a win and a loss on the road. On April 24, the team visited Wilbur Cross and recorded a tough 0-7 loss. They traveled to face Career Magnet on April 25, picking up a 4-3 victory. The Yellowjackets are now 3-10 for the season.
