North Branford Boys’ Lacrosse Grabs Trio of Wins; Softball Wins Two
Softball
On April 10, North Branford softball traveled to Cromwell and grabbed a 2-0 win. The Thunderbirds then hit the road for Glastonbury on April 13 and earned a 4-2 victory.
Baseball
North Branford baseball hosted Cromwell on April 10 and won 11-6. The Thunderbirds then traveled to Valley Regional on April 12 and earned a 5-4 victory before defeating Portland at home on April 14 by a score of 16-4.
Boys’ Lacrosse
The North Branford boys’ lacrosse team faced Haddam-Killingworth at home on April 11 and won 6-5.
Shane Esposito recorded three goals while Ian Kamienski had one to go along with two assists. Eli Defaranos contributed two goals and AJ Sigal added one assist. Jack Maley recorded nine saves.
The Thunderbirds then traveled to Cromwell on April 13 and grabbed a commanding 14-2 victory. Standouts for North Branford included Brady Martinik (four goals, two assists), Luke Blomster (four goals, one assist), Shane Esposito (three goals), Eric Izzo (two goals, one assist), Eli Defaranos (two assists), Ian Kamienski (one goal, one assist), Braden Burns (two assists), and Dradon Brindisi, who recorded three saves.
North Branford played host to Branford on April 15 and won 11-6. Brady Martinik had three goals and Ian Kamienski had one goal and three assists. Luke Blomster added two goals and two assists, and Eric Izzo scored three goals. Eli Defaranos recorded two goals to go along with Shane Esposito’s four assists. AJ Sigal added an assist as well, and Jack Maley recorded 14 saves.
Girls’ Lacrosse
On April 11, North Branford girls’ lacrosse traveled to Haddam-Killingworth and fell 15-14 in overtime. On April 13, the Thunderbirds grabbed a 17-5 home win vs. Cromwell.
