Morgan Girls’ Tennis Wins Three; Baseball Goes .500


Baseball

On April 10, the Morgan baseball team took on East Hampton at home and grabbed a 14-13 win. They then traveled to Bacon Academy on April 11 and lost 12-2 before grabbing an 8-4 win over Cromwell on the road on April 12. On April 15, the Huskies faced Old Lyme at home and lost 9-1.

Softball

The Morgan softball team hosted Cromwell on April 12, taking a 6-1 loss before losing 5-3 at home vs. Windsor Locks on April 13. The Huskies traveled to Old Lyme on April 15 and took a 7-4 defeat.

Girls’ Tennis

The Morgan girls’ tennis team played three matches last week. On April 10, the Huskies traveled to East Hampton and grabbed a 6-1 victory. On April 12, Morgan took to the road to face Cromwell and won 4-3. On April 14, the Huskies hosted North Branford and won 7-0.

Boys’ Tennis

Morgan boys’ tennis grabbed a 7-0 win over East Hampton at home on April 10 before defeating Cromwell 5-2 at home on April 12.

In the East Hampton match, singles wins came from Joseph Morse (6-0, 6-0), Matt Lopez (6-0, 6-0), Steven Kinser (6-0, 6-0), and Oliver Baker by forfeit. For doubles, Darren Abbott/Nick Veltrano, Ryder Watson/Erik Barrera, and Ryan Gray/Andrew Alvarez-Hidalo all won by forfeit. Versus Cromwell, Lopez (7-5, 6-3), Kinser (6-1, 6-0), and Baker (6-1, 7-6) collected wins. Watson/Barrera (6-2, 6-0) and Gray/Alvarez-Hidalo (forfeit) also recorded victories.

Boys’ Lacrosse

Boys’ lacrosse defeated Valley Regional at home on April 11 by a score of 13-3. Morgan then traveled to Haddam-Killingworth on April 13 and took a 7-5 loss.

Girls’ Lacrosse

The Morgan girls’ lacrosse team played three games last week. They first traveled to Valley Regional on April 11 and grabbed a 13-6 victory. On April 13, the Huskies hosted Haddam-Killingworth and lost 11-8 before suffering a 13-6 road loss vs. Waterford on April 14.
