Baseball

H-K baseball had its first game of the season on April 3, grabbing a 3-0 home win vs, Cromwell. The Cougars then traveled to North Branford on April 5, winning 10-5 over the Thunderbirds. On April 7, H-K traveled to Morgan and collected a 7-1 victory over the Huskies before hosting Valley Regional on April 10 and winning a close 3-2 contest.

Girls’ Lacrosse

The H-K girls’ lacrosse team started the season strong, recording a 17-4 road win over Cromwell on April 6.

Softball

H-K softball opened up the season on April 3 with a 7-0 road win over Cromwell. On April 5, the Cougars hosted North Branford and lost 7-4 before beating Morgan at home on April 7, 15-3. On April 8, H-K took to the road to face Valley Regional and won 23-4.

Boys’ Tennis

H-K boys’ tennis opened the season at Westbrook on April 3, falling by a score of 4-3. For singles, Elliot Koplas (Westbrook) defeated Eddie White (H-K) 6-0, 6-3. Bryce Leiberman (H-K) took down Josh Davey (Westbrook) 6-0, 6-0, and Joe Wessinger (H-K) beat Aiden Otrin (Westbrook) 6-7, 6-0, 6-0. Miles Hayden (Westbrook) grabbed a win over Will Lirot 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. For doubles, Ryan Engels and John Freund (Westbrook) defeated Gus Luzietti and Cavin Napoletano (H-K) 6-7, 7-6, 7-6, while Trevor Jones and Jon Brajczewski (Westbrook) defeated Ezekial Stevens and Saige Merwin 6-2, 6-3. Finally, Adam Livingston and Luke Frihlich (H-K) claimed the win over Dev Patel and Yareth Antunez 5-7, 7-5, 7-5.

Girls’ Tennis

H-K girls’ tennis took two straight home losses to start the season. On April 3, the Cougars took a 7-0 loss to Westbrook before falling 7-1 to Morgan on April 5.

Boys’ Lacrosse

On April 6, the H-K boys’ lacrosse team played its season debut at home vs. Cromwell, grabbing a 12-1 commanding win. The Cougars then hosted North Haven on April 8, winning 10-4.
