Madison Hoop Dreams April Vacation Basketball Camp

While many families leave on vacation for the week of April vacation, many stay at home. Madison Hoop Dreams annually offers anfalternative for families to give their kids an opportunity to improve their love of basketball with a week of competition and fun.

This year, the camp will take place in the Polson gym (302 Greenhill Road, Madison) the week of April 10. There are 14 hoops and four courts available for campers to use. A coaching staff will be on hand to help each player improve.

Drawing from over 15 towns, there is good competition and an opportunity to make new friends. Players in grades 3 to 9 are welcome to join from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day of the April break.

With four courts, Madison Hoop Dreams can host up to 80 players. If requested, friends or teammates will try to be kept on the same team. However, if teams are not balanced, trades will occur to ensure competitive games every day.

The cost is $50 per day for up to three days. If a player attends four or five days, the cost is $45 per day ($225 for the week). Since Madison Hoop Dreams is a non-profit, there is financial assistance for families experiencing financial hardship. Call Coach Bill Barker at 203-494-6905 to notify him of your need (information is private).

As a non-profit, Hoop Dreams currently gives each of the following charities $50 every month: St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Wounded Warriors, and Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. In addition, they give $100 each month to Tunnel to Towers (T2T.org).

The community’s support of the programs enables them to make these donations (over $130,000 so far). The amount of college scholarships given each year depends on the enrollment in the summer camps.
