H-K Co-op Boys’ Ice Hockey Falls in States After Two Impressive Wins

The Rocky Hill boys’ ice hockey co-op team pulled off a major upset in the first round of the Division III State Tournament. Entering play as the #15 seed, they blanked #2 New Milford by a score of 3-0 on March 6. They advanced to the quarterfinal round, where they faced the #7 seed Tri-town on March 9 and collected a commanding 6-1 win. Rocky Hill’s season came to an end on March 13, when they were narrowly defeated by Newington by a score of 3-2 in the semifinals. The Rocky Hill co-op team is comprised of four players from Haddam-Killingworth in freshman forward Matt Singer, sophomore defenseman Will James, sophomore forward Jeff Thebeau, and senior goalie Andrew Nugent.
