Guilford Boys’ Ice Hockey, Boys’ Basketball Both Fall in States
Boys’ Ice Hockey
The Guilford boys’ ice hockey season came to an end in the first round of the Division II State Tournament. Entering play as the #4 seed, they were defeated by #13 seed East Haven by a score of 7-3. Goals for the Grizzlies were scored by William Petrick (assisted by Brady Raffone and Shane Considine), Considine (assisted by Petrick and Logan Bertrand) and Considine (assisted by Bertrand and Leo Hergan). Sean McSweet manned the net for Guilford, recording 27 saves while allowing the seven scores.
Boys’ Basketball
Guilford boys’ basketball began Division II State Tournament play as the #6 seed. They defeated #27 Maloney by a score of 65-58 in the opening round before bowing out to #22 Stamford in the second round on March 9, by a final score of 52-47.
