Branford Boys’ Basketball, Boys’ Ice Hockey Finish Regular Season Strong
Boys’ Basketball
Hornets’ boys’ basketball ended the season strong, posting back-to-back home victories. The team hosted Amistad on Feb. 20, and recorded a 61-56 win. On Feb. 22, they welcomed Classical Magnet and recorded a 53-44 victory. They ended the season with a 6-14 record.
Boys’ Ice Hockey
Boys’ ice hockey recorded a shut-out victory in the final regular season game of the year. On Feb. 22, the team hit the road in a 3-0 win over East Catholic. The Hornets win came behind two goals from Matt Morgan, with an assist from Jack Linder, and a Linder goal on an assist from Morgan. Dante Dilegge secured the victory with a perfect game between the pipes. The team ended the regular season with a 11-6 record, securing the #3 seed in the SCC Division II playoffs.
Girls’ Ice Hockey
The Daniel Hand girls’ ice hockey co-op took a loss last week to bring their overall record to 7-9-1. They hosted Watertown-Pomperaug on Feb. 22, falling 6-4.
