Morgan Co-op Boys’ Hockey Grabs a Tie, While Boys’ Basketball Takes a Road Loss
Boys’ Basketball
Huskies boys’ basketball took a loss on the road last week, falling 44-41 to Valley Regional on Feb. 14. They are 12-7 for the season.
Girls’ Basketball
Girls’ basketball took a tough ending to the season, recording a pair of losses. They hosted Valley Regional on Feb. 14 in a 62-35 loss. Ava Johnson led the way with 20 points, while Caeley Ayer, Maeve Madura and Victoria O’Neill all added four. Eva O’Sullivan also recorded two points in the loss. On Feb. 18, they hit the road to face Cromwell in a 45-26 loss. The team ended the regular season with a record of 8-13.
Boys’ Ice Hockey
The East Haven boys’ co-op ice hockey team took a 2-2 tie on Feb. 15 at home against Watertown/Pomperaug. The visitors scored the first two goals in the first period, but East Haven’s John D’Albero converted a second period penalty shot, unassisted, to make the score 2-1. Michael Savo scored on a power play at the 7:17 mark of the third period to tie the game. The assist was credited to John D’Albero. Jon-Paul Garea recorded 43 saves in net while allowing the two goals. The team is 4-6-2 for the season.
Wrestling
The Morgan wrestling team competed at the Class S State Championship on Feb. 17-18, placing 19th overall as a team.
