On Jan. 18, the North Haven wrestling team hosted a home match vs. East Haven. The Nighthawks lost 55-24, dropping their record to 7- 10 overall. Despite the loss, the Nighthawks had many standout performances.

Winning wrestlers for the Nighthawks included Emilio Crocco at 138 pounds by pin, Mike Moran at 160 pounds by forfeit, Nathan Ruggiero at 170 pounds by forfeit, and Christian DeMaio at 182 pounds by pin.

There were also many wrestlers who had an excellent match despite the outcome. Jace Iamunno lost a tightly contested match at 145 pounds by a score of 15-13. The match was back and forth for the entire six minutes, and Jace had tied it up with about 20 seconds left before his opponent scored a go-ahead reversal.

Also wrestling well in the defeat was captain AJ Tomaszewski at 152 pounds and Joe Carbone at 285 pounds.
