H-K Boys’ Basketball Takes Two Losses
The Haddam-Killingworth Cougars boys’ basketball team played an intense game vs. Hale Ray at home on Jan. 17. After a hard-fought battle, the Cougars fell by a score of 47-44.
Andrew Crayton led H-K with 11 points, seven rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block. Blake Kamoen added nine points and five rebounds, while Jay Evans and Declan Moriarty had six points each. Moriarty also added two steals and two assists.
Ryan Erskine’s five points, two rebounds, and one steal also helped contribute to the Cougars’ box score, and Luke Mauri recorded three points and one steal.
Joe Giaccone (two points, one steal) and Tyler Perry (two points) both found the rim in the contest.
H-K then hit the road to face the Rams of Old Saybrook on Jan. 20. The Cougars were unable to come out with a win, falling by a score of 53-34.
Andrew Crayton’s 13 points, five rebounds, three steals, and one block led the Cougars, but several other players also contributed. Blake Kamoen scored four points to go along with five rebounds and one steal.
A handful of players contributed three points each in the game: Declan Moriarty (one rebound), Jason Maziarz (two rebounds), Ryan Erskine, Jay Evans, and Cody Robinson (one rebound).
Orion Inkel also added two points in the loss.
The Cougars are now 4-7 on the season.
