Warriors Girls’ Basketball Team Continues in Dominant Fashion

The Valley Regional girs’ basketball team collected a dominant 60-35 win over Coginchaug on Jan. 10. Abby Bradbury had the game of her life, scoring 25 of the Warriors’ 60 points, while going a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line.

Lily Grow added 18 points, while Regan Grow recorded six. Olivia Cunningham scored five points, and Siena Schaller, Sharmel Rivera and Elizabeth Allen all added two points each.

Hoping to continue the hot streak, Valley then faced Cromwell on the road on Jan. 12, winning a close game by a score of 49-45.

Olivia Cunningham scored 22 points to lead the Warriors, while Abby Bradbury added nine points on a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. Sienna Schaller and Regan Grow both contributed, with seven points and six points, respectively. Lily Grow recorded three points in the win, while Elizabeth Allen had two.

The Warriors showed a lot of toughness and resilience in the contest, as they added another victory to their record.

Valley Regional traveled to Portland on Jan. 14 for a meeting with the Highlanders, winning an impressive 88-24 contest.

This game was a full team effort, as many different players landed on the scoreboard. Lily Grow and Abby Bradbury had 19 points each, while Olivia Cunningham followed with 12 points. Regan Grow found herself in double digits with ten points.

Elizabeth Allen scored nine points to go along with Sienna Schaller’s eight, and Ella Martinez found the basket for five points. Sharmel Rivera collected four points and Ella Smith added two.
