North Haven Boys’ Hockey To Honor the Family of Alan Tancreti
Members of the North Haven boys’ ice hockey team will take to the ice on Saturday, Jan. 28 with more than a win on their minds. The game versus West Haven at the Northford Ice Pavilion will also serve as a benefit for the family of Alan B. Tancreti, Jr., who passed away suddenly this past October.
Born and raised in North Haven, Tancreti was a North Haven High School (NHHS) alumnus, hockey player, and coach. Tancreti was also a former North Haven Middle School history teacher and Newington police officer.
All proceeds from the game vs. West Haven will benefit the Tancreti family and Alan’s three children: Alan III, Catie, and Julia.
Alan III and Catie are both North Haven High School alumni, and Julia is currently a freshman at the school. Alan III is a four-year North Haven hockey player and former captain.
There will be a short program before the game highlighting Tancreti’s dedication to the North Haven High School hockey program and North Haven student-athletes.
Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
